Sheila and her husband Kenne continue to live on his family farm where they raised four daughters and now enjoy two granddaughters. Though they both grew up on farms only nine miles apart, they didn’t meet each other until they were in high school. After dating four years, they married and stayed in their home community. They also had a dairy herd for about 15 years.  Sheila plays piano and organ and has been blessed to teach private lessons for over twenty-five years.

Learning to live out the faith she cherishes is like climbing a spiral stairway: relearning lessons on deeper levels. About thirty years ago, part of that journey included a few sessions with a counselor. During her final session, Sheila was asked to picture the rest of her life as a mountain path. When she was asked what she saw there, she was surprised to see a book. Beginning to write this blog is a step toward that vision, a leap of faith.
